last heard skoda is adding another variant 'active' to the other classic,ambiente and elegance. this one wont have any features(no,literally) and will be much cheaper. it would not even have the normal power windows. but then i have just heard about it. there is nothing mentioned on the site.

If that happens nothing like it...that could be a deadly blow for the Swift as well...Maruti would have something to worry about if Skoda really does that. They could just simply come up with a variant with Power Steering, Power windows, AC and some other basic features and price it between 5 to 6 lakhs. Show stealer for sure!

Otherwise there would be very few takers for such an expensive hatchback (7.5 to 8.5 lakhs)!! 

that is precisely why they might be thinkin about the car in the first place...people are not willing to pay that much for a small car...which the fabia is not..but coz its a hatchback(and a very large one at that) people take it as a small car...that has been its undoing...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one!! 

went to the site..yesterday it said 1 day to go..so i guess even if the 'avtive' comes to india, it is not in their agenda right now. maybe they want to wait and watch how the other varinats of the car fare first.

I'm looking forward to their press conference at the auto expo though...that could definitely provide some clarity!  

and also try getting details of the prices and other specifications please.

on orkut fabia community someone from delhi told me the specs of Fabia are , it has a 1.4 turbo petrol engine and a 1.4 Diesel engine.
the price also has been anounced and it started form 4.99 - 7.58 ex showrrooom(delhi)

The engine specs are bang on target...haven't heard the confirmed prices as of now though!
