Share your experiences of the 9th Auto Expo!!

I'm starting this thread for all those auto enthusiasts who were there this time around at the Auto Expo in Delhi and just couldn't get enough of all the beautiful looking cars (as well as the models..lolz)!!

So feel free to share your experiences with everybody. If you wish you could write about which cars really happened to thrill your senses as well which are the ones that you're really looking forward to being launched here in India.

You could also throw light on the key take aways / learning points from this auto fiesta.

How about the introduction of all those new cars especially the Tata Nano which has demonstrated to the whole world that India can also be the technical / manufacturing hub and can also manufacture the world's cheapest car without compromising on quality & the desired safety & regulatory norms.

So all those people who have visited can pour in their much awaited thoughts.

    Cheers !!

Re: Share your experiences of the 9th Auto Expo!!

Hats-off to RATAN TATA...he has definitely done India proud!!

It was unbelievable to see those 1 km long queue of people actually waiting outside the Tata & Fiat hall to just get a glimpse of the cute little Nano. It was definitely the highlight as well as the biggest crowd puller at the expo. Ahhh...and not to forget that the Fiat stall had one of the hottest looking models around (closely followed by Skoda)!!

Even the Maruti stall was a great hit with the people with Concepts like the A-star, the Kizashi & the Splash on display.

Skoda, Honda, Hyundai, Volvo, BMW, Mercedes & Audi didnt let you down either.

But the one that i think really came as a surprise to me was the Volkswagen stall...the kinda line up of cars that they have in store for India probably no1 else does in the years to come. The Beetle, the Jetta, the Passat (which is already here), the Tiguan, the Touareg, the Phaeton and how can you forget their concept car - the UP!!

So practically they'll have a car for every price range between 3 to 90 lakhs. Now thats definitely a feat for any car manufacturer in India to have such a vast portfolio. Looking forward to this one for sure!!

And how can we ever forget our most awesome Car Designer - Dilip Chhabria's stall. No matter what we all go to the Auto expo for this is one stall that every auto lover looks forward to. You just can't miss it for anything in the world...am i not right?? And even this time around DC didnt happen to let any of us down.

One of the cars on display was the Rs 4-crore luxury car called Ambierod, designed in India by Dilip Chhabria Design Ltd (DCD). With an exterior look of the iconic Ambassador, Ambierod will be powered by a V-12 BMW engine and will have the highly modified chassis of BMW.

But where was the Swift Sedan??

I was really looking forward to seeing at the Maruti stand...wonder why it wasn't there?

Was this a conscious effort by Maruti so that the competitors don't get a sneak peak at it or is it that they have other plans?

The GM / Chevrolet stall in addition to the Captiva & their Sequel & WRCC concept also had the Cadillac as well as the Hummer on display.

They just simply took my breath away...dunno when they plan to bring these mean machines to India!!

The Skoda stall had to be the most chaotic...now i wonder if it was because of the Fabia or all the beautiful looking Australian models? Take a guess...

And how can i forget catching John & Karan Johar at the Audi stall on the 9th of Jan...wonder whether all the females found the Audi cars hotter or John? I definitely saw John getting all the attention at that moment...
