Volkwagen, which had launched its premium
sedan Passat in India
way back in Sept 2007 which was truly an exquisite car. But what acted as
a stumbling-block in its way of success was its high-flown price band 22.35
lakh - Rs 24.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
which would probably have disappointed every Passat aspirant.
Volkswagen in order to
ease the matter plans to roll out a cheaper variant of Passat. The new Passat
will carry a manual gearbox which will soon be joined by its automatic gearbox
variant as well. The new Passat will purportedly be available at a handy price
of 20 Lac. It is supposed to check the growth of the new Honda Accord and the
Toyota Camry. The car can be caught up with in the showrooms in October only.
