Fiat has made one of its cards public that are for sure going to get good names for it. I am talking about none other than the three-door, four seater hatchback 500. The 500 is here with a premium car price tag that is going to make you gulp for at least once. But one may ask what is so special in this car that it's been priced so highly. Why one would go about coughing off 15Lakh to have a puny hatchback that doesn't even give reasonable mileage figures. One can probably look for cars of other premium brands which are sedan and offer more features and ample room to relax.

Let the cat out of the bag! This car is not for those who are looking to save money and whose eyes always look for better mileage figures. This car is dedicated to those who want build a class of their own and show-off their passion in an exotic way. The car may seem banal but it has got the power to bedazzle a Merc, when both are lined up for comparison. It arouses a feel in the bottom of your abdomen. Prima-facie you start to fall prey and give in to its beauty and aesthetics.

Here you are! The 500 has been rolled out in two variants Lounge and Sports. Their names may be different but they exhibit almost the same features and completely same technical know-how. They guzzle diesel to satiate their thirst and go over. The engine in their front is of Multijet which is the same as of Fiat Palio Stile Multijet. The Lounge has been awarded Sun Roof as standard whereas one can have this fitted in the sports variant as it is optional in it. The other thing worth mentioning is the Sports variant has got Rear Spoiler which is found in sport cars while the other gets it as optional. Features like 15" alloy wheels,Trip computer, ABS, 7 airbags, Blue & Me handsfree system with Bluetooth technology, CD/MP3 player further augment its gracefulness. This car is also famous for a good collection of optional features by virtue of which it can be customized. For the time being its availability has been confined to some dealerships across the country like Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune.

when will it launch ? 

It has already been launched in India at a pompous ceremony in Mumbai on 18 July, 2008 .It's been split  into two variants Sports and Lounge. There is a little difference between the features and physique of these two variants and have been priced equally. Their ex-showroom price start from 14,63,500 and surge upto Rs. 15,19,500 based on the different locations across the country. Currently it's available at select dealerships but soon arriving at other outlets as well.  There is a long catalogue of optional features and thus can be customized as you want it to look and perform. All told, sumptuous and aesthetically well car.

Yeah! I admit it, Asif but you are shelling out moolah not for a car, according to me, but for an experience which leaves an indelible imprint on your mind.

The main cause supporting it's fancy price is that it's an imported one and one-of-its-kind.
