    Getz crdi ,fida over it??

Finally the wait is over, most powerful car(110ps) within the 8 lakh range is here,Happen to came across a few photos of getz crdi, and from the looks of it verna crdi is on the way out.

    Advantages,

1.Most powerful and hence the most comfortable for the driver.
    2.Boot space of 288 litres against 350 0f verna only a difference of 50.
    3.Comfortable mileage of 16-20.

    Disadvantages

    1.At 6.50 lakhs,car is too priced for a hatchback.
2.Still have to wait to find whether fabia is better.

ps: sorry for that photo of santro driveinside didn't offer me one of getz.

The TD for the CRDI began from Monday but work and other constraints only allowed me to go this morning for a feeler ride. *Unlike the Swift D, the engine noise is noticeable ala Verna. Cabin noise seems to be well taken care of. *Suspension has been definitely tightened and handling with the stock rubber is decent imo unlike Swift stock rubber. *Gearing has also been worked upon, which makes it easy for city and bumper to bumper traffic. The 1st gear is not short like the Verna. *Braking is ok for city. But retrofitting rear discs is something most enthusiasts will have to consider especially for highway runs. The throttle response is unbelievable as most of you can imagine. No pedal to the metal here. Had open 2km's of driving around in traffic as well as the curves and bends around Sankey tank and then up and around Mekhri circle. Will be going back to take a drive at leisure on an open stretch. Right now there's a lot of people queuing for the car. Its only clocked around 30kms as of this morning.

So would you vouch for it or would you stick by the swift diesel? I don't think that at the price that its available Maruti has anything to really worry about..

I am Jai,that the name from my id that's all,I think maruti has something to worry.

For 60 k extra you get more power(+35 bhp),better space in the rear, and a whole 290 litres of bootspace u just can't ask for more

The pictures are fabulous man !! The interiors have such a better finish and feel to them than the swift's. I just love that wooden finish on the centre console !!

I've driven the swift diesel and for some reason its very light on your foot. Not the usual heavy type diesel cars...Does the Getz also feel different from contemporary diesel cars? And do gimme reports about the mileage n all once u've driven it around a little...

    Re: Getz CRDi

No doubt that the car has been finished really well with great interiors. But if i'm not wrong isn't it the same engine that the accent crdi had under its hood or is it a completely new engine from Hyundai ? People definitely relate to that one from Hyundai for some reason...

But i feel that the initial pricing of a car is really critical to boost its sales volumes & for some reason the Getz crdi is definitely over-priced for a small diesel hatchback. For a power hungry driver looking for a diesel hatchback this would definitely be the pick of the lot, but a person looking for a small economical diesel car would any day prefer sticking by the Swift DDiS.

Engine is not that of accent for sure, maybe some resemblance to verna engine+low end torque which is really good.
