Two-wheeler manufacturers in India posted an impressive sales growth in November 2009, helped by low interest rates on bank loans and new launches. Hero Honda sold 381,378 units in November 2009, as against 289,426 units in November 2008 – an increase of 32 per cent. TVS Motor too grew by 38 per cent, selling 106,836 units in November 2009, compared to 77,491 units in November 2008. Bajaj Auto sold 242,390 motorcycles in November 2009, 84 per cent higher than its sales in November 2008. It sold 94,000 units of its Discover brand, and more than 50,000 units of the Pulsar brand. Its total two-wheeler sales in the month stood at 242,648 units. The company’s exports grew by 46 per cent, from 67,397 units last year, to 98,521 units in November this year. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) posted a 38.95 per cent sales growth in the same period. It sold 100,162 units during the month.
