Volkswagen India launched the New Polo in Mumbai this week. The premium hatchback is priced at Rs 4.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the 1.2-litre petrol variant and Rs 5.32 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the 1.2-litre diesel variant. Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board and Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said that the car had received an overwhelming response at the India Auto Show in January, and that the company was sure customers would love driving it too. Deliveries of the petrol variant will start in March 2010, while the diesel variant will hit the roads in May.

The New Polo promises to set new benchmarks in the premium hatchback segment, with its superior comfort, entertainment and safety features. It comes with an MP3 CD Player with 4 speakers, power steering, remote central locking and a height adjustable driver’s seat. It is also equipped with Dual airbags (driver and passenger side), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Anti-Theft Immobilizer.
