Glittering Finale of the MercedesTrophy 2007

Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, CEO & Managing Director, DaimlerChrysler India today formally felicitated the winners of the National Finals of the Mercedes-Trophy, the exquisite trophy specially designed and crafted by Swarovski, at a Fashion Showcase by celebrity designer Gavin Miguel in Pune. This year, the Fashion Showcase at the MercedesTrophy Golf Tournament was all about rhythm and music put together in a distinctive style. The co-sponsors of the tournament: Mr. Desmond Chacko, Swiss International Airlines Ltd, Ms. Anna Bredemeyer representative of Mont Blanc, Mr. Sanjay Sharma, and Country Manager for Swarovski India also graced the occasion.

With remarkable success of the first six editions of the event in India, this seventh edition of MercedesTrophy promised that precision drives, smooth putts and sound swing mechanics would be the order of the day as players competed against fellow golfers in three distinct handicap divisions. The winners and runner-up were selected for each category at the three regional qualifier tournaments, played at Bangalore (Eagleton Golf Course) on January 13 2007, in Mumbai on the January 27-28 (Bombay Presidency Golf Course) and on February 10-11,2007 at Delhi (Jaypee Greens).

The MercedesTrophy is an exclusive tournament for discerning Mercedes-Benz owners and the three lucky winners announced at the National Finals today, along with their spouses, will get a unique chance to participate at the MercedesTrophy World Final in Stuttgart (September 2007) which is an annual congregation of the finest-proven players and Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts.

Apart from the honor of representing Team India at the Mercedes Trophy World Finals, the winners also reaped rich rewards: exquisite range of fine writing instruments and accessories from Mont Blanc; exquisite crystal designer trophy from Swarovski, while Swiss International Airlines will fly the winners and their spouses business-class to Stuttgart and back for the world finals.

The special attraction is unmistakably “Mercedes Montage’’.This scintillating extravaganza is slated to be the culminating point of the Grand Finale of the National Rounds in Pune. Conceived as a Coup-de-Theatre, this theme show promises to marvel the audience with its sheer creative flow. “Mercedes Montage” is splendidly crafted keeping in mind the brand perspectives of Mercedes-Benz on a canvas of fashion. Notably five line sequences will be on display namely, Sophisticated, Adventurous, Competing, Enthusiastic and Distinguished. These creative line-ups are formulated to provide a scintillating display to the audience present which is visually stimulating with a universal appeal; using larger than life imagery on a cinematic scope. The ensemble for the show will be from celebrity designer Gavin Miguel who will present renowned names from the fashion and glamour industry. Ms. Achala Sachdev will choreograph the event.
