Teana Wins the Executive Car of the Year Award at India’s Car & Bike Awards, 2008

The highly acclaimed Teana is the second vehicle from the Nissan’s stable to be launched in India, three years after the launch of the popular SUV –X-Trail.
Initially pegged in the premium category of Honda’s Accord and Toyota’s Camry, expectations were high when it was launched. A quick on road analysis, immediately had Teana poised in the super premium category also competing with the Volkswagen Passat, BMW 3 series and Mercedes C Class.
In December 2007, the Nissan Teana was nominated in two categories:
1. The Executive Car of the Year
2. The Car of the Year
For the NDTV Car & Bike Awards!
In the Executive Car of the Year category, Nissan Teana was adjudged the winner. It was pitted against the newly launched Volkswagen Passat and the BMW 3 Series.
The key criteria for this category were excellence in: driving comfort, performance, design and style, purpose with relevance and value for money in its category.
The Award was collected by Director Marketing and Sales, Mr Neeraj Garg at a special function held in New Delhi early this month.
On receipt of the very first award for Nissan India, Mr. Neeraj Garg, Director Marketing and Sales, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. said “We are really excited at receiving this award. This will go a long way in building our brand in India and the kind of products that we promise to bring into this country.”
In the Best Car of the Year category, though the Nissan Teana did not finally win the Award, but it does set the stage for future.
