I am sure audiences will love the film’s modern theme and its’ very different and interesting storyline. The star cast of the film Shabana Azmi, Boman Irani, Chitrangda Singh, Sharman Joshi and Sanjay Suri has put in strong award winning performances. We are thrilled to have the benefits of the high production values associated with Vashu Bhagnani. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate our commitment to bringing great stories to our audience.”
Commenting on Sorry Bhai, the Director Onir, who has earlier impressed us with his films ‘My Brother Nikhil’ and Bas Ek Pal says, “Sorry Bhai is a contemporary fun holiday - romance film, that has an interesting take on forbidden love. It is essentially about delicate relationships, yet each character is presented with love which makes their actions acceptable. For me the scope of exploring the genre of a fun romance film was exciting. It’s the first time I’m working with Boman and Shabanaji and they are just adorable in the movie. I am delighted that Chitrangadha chose my film to make a new beginning in Hindi Cinema.”
The film marks the return of Bollywood’s enchanting mystery woman- the gorgeous Chitrangadha Singh to filmdom after ‘Kal – Yesterday & Tomorrow’. ‘Sorry Bhai’ boasts of an unconventional star cast, bringing together the acclaimed acting talent of Shabana Azmi and Boman Irani. Sharman Joshi and Sanjay Suri’s chemistry brings an unusual energy to the screenplay.
Shabana Azmi who had already worked with Boman Irani says “It was great to work with Boman again and I enjoyed playing mother to Sanjay and Sharman. Chitrangadha’s vibrant performance completely impressed me and her resemblance to Smita Patil is uncanny. Onir handles relationships well, as was evidenced in his first film ‘My brother Nikhil’. ‘Sorry Bhai’ is a sweet film that gently pushes the boundaries of what is acceptable in Hindi films.”
Chitrangadha, who is making a new beginning with ‘Sorry Bhai’ explains, “When I heard the script of ‘Sorry Bhai’ and understood the depth of my character in the film, I instinctively felt that Sorry Bhai is the vehicle I should be associated with. The film deals with a girl falling for her fiancé’s brother and manages to show the predicaments of the characters very realistically…without making them black or white. Onir is an excellent director to work with and the entire cast has been extremely supportive.”
Sharman Joshi, thrilled with his performance in the movie, says “Sometimes it’s right to fall in love with your brother’s fiancée. It is this forbidden love that makes my character most interesting. I am delighted to be a part of ‘Sorry Bhai’. Working with Onir was very special and his confidence made it a smooth ride for everybody.”
Speaking about the movie, Boman Irani says, “I am sure people will enjoy seeing me and Shabana again. I hope audiences enjoy the punch that my character offers to the film. ‘Sorry Bhai’, I have to confess, was a real pleasure and certainly one of the most enjoyable and enriching shooting experiences I have ever been a part of.”
Sanjay Suri, who is also the co-producer of the film says, “I am glad that Anticlock Films has associated with Puja Entertainment, Mumbai Mantra and with a very talented filmmaker like Onir. It has been an enriching experience to have worked with one of India’s finest talents Shabana Azmi. Boman Irani and Sharman Joshi have gone out of their way to support Onir’s endeavour. Chitrangadha has done us proud by choosing ‘Sorry Bhai’ as her comeback film. This film will surely set a new benchmark for Onir.”
