2012 FIA GT1 final in India
There is more happiness being spread around the Indian Motorsport fraternity after it was announced that the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) would host the final round of the 2012 GT1 World Championship. For those of you who are not familiar with the race, it revolves around car manufacturers such as Chevrolet, Maserati, Aston Martin, Ford, Nissan and Lamborghini, who bring their best sports cars to compete for motorsport supremacy. And we also have word that other teams such as Mercedes and Ferrari will also compete in the 2012 rounds.
The final round will be held at the BIC on 2nd December 2012 and will surely bring Indian motorsport enthusiasts together once again. Series boss, Stephane Ratel said that an event in India is one of the top priorities to bring the event to South Asia to go along with the rounds in China. “India completes the 2012 calendar in every way. It fulfils our ambition to continue to break new ground in global markets, taking world-class GT racing to new and exciting locations”. He then also mentioned that, “to secure events in the three capital cities of the three fastest-growing markets for luxury cars is a major step forward.” We highly agree!
