The new fabia has come in so many models. Will someone tell me which model denotes what? The code used for each model is not familiar with the average car buyer. The mileage and price for each of these models are not shown. Does it mean that the buyer should buy fabia blind folded? I wonder whether the Czhecks are seeing the attitude of the indian skoda dealers.
I am curious to know about the price increase that would come as tax for the increased length of the car. What are the safety features which were removed to bring down the prices? Have the quality of the car in general decreased.
Why dont any independent body give a comparative study about these aspects?

Hi Sanjay,
The variants are classic, ambiente and elegance, just like LXi, VXi, ZXi in Maruti cars. The details regarding prices are availalbe at the skoda website. You can also check them out. The length of the car is still inside 4m bracket and there is no price increase because of that. The prices are reduced owing to removal of unnecessary features like sunroof and also due to higher locally made parts.

The price reduction of Fabia is due to removing features plus in diesel the tax benefit due to reduced engine capacity in diesel. Fantastic drive the car. Really refined. true luxury hatch.

I bought the new fabia 1.2 TDI Classic diesel, this car is like a tank, i mean you are safe inside this car. the mileage is great, never expected i got 20.5 in highways with intermediate ac on and off, in city i get slightly close to 19 (around 18.75) with ac on and off intermediately. the torque is too good, but not as swift, cannot compare this car with figo, as figo does nothave such a torque, the driver is very comfortable and easy to handle in a city like bangalore with traffic. i enjoy the driver, i earlier had santro and it was very easy to drive, so is fabia but thing is this is a huge car

I plan to take a diesel hatch Back.
Form the current lot, there seems to be the following below options available...
I 20 Astra Diesel ( I have not seem much of Diesel vehicle son road; how is the performance)
VW Polo TDI ( Understand the rear seat is cramp with less boot space than Fabia)
Fabia TDI ( How about 75 Bhp horse power, is this enough power;
I am aware about the good Mileage from Fabia)
Where in I am not totally convinced on either of the above cars..
And None of them comes as a CLEAR WINNER to make a EASY decision for the customers....
Kindly help with your inputs so as to decide on one of them...
Thanx

Dear Sir,
My problem with my Skoda Fabia 2010 is that , when driving- day or night time - with the AC on and after a short time the AC temperature. goes up fast to 58 degree and automatically the engine goes off and the car stops in the middle of the road .
I took it many times to the dealer for check up but still the problem exist, and it seems they do not know what is the problems is and giving no satisfactory explanation.

Hey Guys! Someone suggested on one of the blogs that to dampen the engine noise of the Fabia one can procure "an engine cover" for some 10K! Is someone aware whether this is a Skoda genuine part or available in the grey market? If the noise reduction is substantial then why does Skoda not make it a part of the standard fitment? Any body please . . .
