I had always liked the first launch when it was TATA sierra. Then was the Safari makeover. The initial TCIC engine was sluggish and rattled. The era of common rail saw the first DICOR engine. TATA did not do much on the face and the cosmetics as it did for the engine. I have lived my life on the hills, so Scorpio was the better choice for the sluggish pick up of the DICOR. The 3 ltr. engine was better than the TCIC but still it was slow in the hills. I had to wait long. Very long until the 2.2 was launched. Then again wait for one year to study its performance. And finally came my TATA SAFARI(Dicor). There are many competitors in the market but when you are in love with one nothing else matters. When in love you accept it with its little mistakes. Similarly Safari has problems..(Turning radius...) but it is a good vehicle. I drove from Sikkim to Attari ( wagha Border) Punjab and back through Himachal, Uttarakhand, Delhi, U.P Bihar Bengal. I tell you there was not a single problem. Yes I did correct the wheel alignment every 1000 k.m. No choice. Rest everything was perfect. I am looking for another tour in my Safari in the near future.

Tata Safari is a powerful SUV. Its got smooth & excellent performance. The Safari Petrol VXi is beautiful in design and has got lots of other features that no other SUVs can offer at this price of Rs. 11+lacs. No sound or vibration feels inside the cabin. Its power steering is very smooth and excellent in city driving. ABS brakes performs very well. TATA made the Safari, especially its high-end version VX/VXi models with all luxury features is to last longer, suitable for Indian roads whether urban or rural. No other SUVs having a gross weight of 2,750kg. (2.75 ton) can give an average of 10.9 kms/ltr with A.C on in highway+city driving which Safari Petrol VXi gives. In nutshell, its my dream vehicle.
