General Motors India Private Limited, Established in 1911, car company Chevrolet was named after Louis Chevrolet, a race car driver. The company first came to India in the year 1928 and its first assembly plant was set up by General Motors in Sewree. Chevrolet gradually became the favourite of the Hindi film industry, its cars having being featured in movies like ‘Haathi Mere Sathi’, ‘Jewel Thief’, ‘China Town’, and ‘Shararat’.
