EXPERT RATING

Gold Award

The Brio is Honda India’s answer to the small car segment space. The Brio was designed to keep the Indian customer in mind and hence it looks a class apart form other small cars. The edgy chrome grille and fine character lines rising up from the dynamic headlights looks nice and the bold character lines convey energy and liveliness from the nose to the tail. The interiors are minimalistic with a sensible approach, and come with some state of the art safety features. The drive quality of the Brio is relatively smooth, but not as good as the Hyundai i10. Overall the Brio is priced competitively and is a fantastic car with a great fuel economy as well.

The Figo is one of the best cars available in the hatch-back segment. It has got modern looks, spacious and respectable quality interiors, it also possesses a powerful engine which has highly refined ride quality. There are two engine variants available, the 1.2 Duratec Petrol producing 71bhp, and the 1.4 Duratorq Diesel producing 69bhp. The Figo comes with great new technology and a special infotainment system which is unheard of in the entry level hatch segment. Considering the low price of the car you definitely get your money’s worth.

Renault Pulse Image

Ex-Showroom Price
Rs. 5,03,996 – 6,80,579 (Delhi)

EXPERT RATING

76%

Silver Award

The Renault Pulse is the very first small hatchback to enter the Indian market from the French manufacturer. It’s got a great distinctive modern design approach similar to the Nissan Micra, as they both share the same platform. The car is a very good performer as well. The inside allows for plenty of head room because of the high roofline and the interior quality is very decent for a mid-sized hatchback. The engines are both diesel and petrol variants and are very well refined that allow for a great driving experience and not to mention a very efficient fuel economy. The Micra also handles incredibly well and the suspension setup is perfect for Indian roads. The car does lack the finishing touches and could use better quality materials, but overall it is a very reliable and good performing car. The diesel unit can provide a fuel economy of 20kmpl.
