The Duster is Renault India’s answer to the growing demand for small SUVs. The Duster has got great looks and an incredible ground clearance of 205mm which is unmatched in the segment. The high selling point of the Duster is that it comes with the famous petrol and diesel units each with different power outputs which provide decent power outputs. The Duster exterior gives it a strong on-road presence as it is wider and longer than any other SUV in its segment. The interior of the Duster however lacks in quality because the parts are very light and cheap, hence the very competitive price of the Duster. It also lacks rear seat space but it comes with a host of special features as well. The Duster also provides the best fuel economy compared to any other SUV and it competes directly with the Mahindra Bolero and Scorpio. Overall for the price you get a fantastic looking and performing SUV with sedan like driving dynamics.

The Ford EcoSport comes with both petrol and diesel options as well as an automatic version. Essentially it looks like a hatchback that has been raised up high off the ground with a spare wheel on the rear boot to make it look more muscular and more like an SUV. It’s got curves, nice wheel arches and it seems like its wide enough. The length of the car has been kept below 4 metres, and its ground clearance is a very impressive 200mm. There is a nice big front grille and there are some nice looking alloy wheels as well. The interior design has been laid out quite well, the dashboard looks nice with some neat buttons and clever looking AC vents, and then there is the multimedia interface and a good looking instrument cluster. The overall quality of the dashboard is typical ford though as you can feel the cheapness of the plastics. But it still looks good and the seats compliment the interiors further. They are nicely set up and are also quite comfortable. There is also a large amount of room in the trunk and the seats can be arranged so you can make even more room for storage.

The Mahindra Scorpio has undergone many changes since it was first introduced. It has a very simple but bold and rugged looks. It is a highly capable SUV and one of the best from the Mahindra stable. There are good quality interiors but it can be a it cramped in the front, but the rear space is adequate with a large boot area. The overall ride quality of the Scorpio has also been improved with the help of the new m-Hawk engines. Overall the Scorpio is a fantastic car within its segment.
