BMW X6

The Interiors of the X6 are very luxurious, and not as simply stated as in the other SUVs from BMW. There is lots of space in the cabin but it is only setup for 4 occupants, but there is n option to fit five. The dashboard is also very nice and the steering wheel is also very sporty, in fact even the interior layout adds a touch of sportiness to the car.

The X6 comes with a 2993cc 6-cylinder diesel unit with 235bhp and a 8-speed automatic transmission, and this is the same engine and transmission setup in the X3 and the X5. There is also a larger petrol unit available and that is the 4395cc 8-cylinder engine with a massive 400bhp. This engine is also mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. But the engines are incredibly refined, but of course the larger petrol unit is a much better performer.

The X6 is a great performer and it combines raw SUV capability with awesome sports coupe performance. The suspension is setup on the stiffer side and the ride quality is really fantastic. The petrol engine has much more power and that is the engine variant you should go for if you want to experience the car at its best. The power is entertaining to say the least and you can sprint from 0-100kmph in just 5.4 seconds, while the diesel unit takes around 8 seconds. The steering response is brilliant and the car turns at your every command. The only problem is the weight of the car and the fact that it sits high off the ground, but even this do not take away the joy of driving the car.

The X6, with the larger 4.0 litre petrol engine is capable of providing a fuel economy of around 6kmpl, while the 3.0 litre diesel unit can provide around 10kmpl.

The car comes equipped with power steering with mounted controls, power windows, a start/stop button, fully automatic air-conditioning, and BMW Connected Drive that includes Bluetooth, USB connectivity, a 22.3cm colour display, audio streaming, voice control, HiFi loudspeaker system, and navigation.

Safety features include airbags, ABS with Brake Assist, Runflat tyres, Stability control, traction control, electronic parking brake, Hill Decent control, and Parking Assist.

The Quality on all BMW cars is of top quality. Everything is made too last and give an impression of luxury, style elegance and sportiness. The car is very well built and comes with some of the best-engineered components and parts. It is also a highly reliable machine and performs to perfection.

The X6 is a great car but it is not the best value for money considering it shares the same engine with the X3 and X5. It is priced quite high and all you really get is a unique car, but if you choose the petrol you get lots and lots of power.

The X6 is a brilliant car but it is very expensive. It might be unique, but its design does not appeal to everyone, and only the petrol variant is really worth it since it gives you lots and lots of power. But the Porsche Cayenne S is a very close competitor and it looks more appealing, not to mention it bears the Porsche badge.
