The Chevrolet Enjoy is GM India’s answer to the growing demand for MPVs in India and so it competes with the Nissan Evalia, Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova. The Enjoy was launched in 2013 and it comes in both diesel and petrol variants.
Design & Styling
The Enjoy is a practically designed vehicle and it serves the purpose of space, and that is why its design is boxy and square but the front styling is very nice and is defined by the signature Chevrolet Gold Bowtie in the chrome surround three-dimensional grille and leaf style fog lamps. The crisp crease lines in the bonnet rising towards the front windscreen define both agility and tension to the aerodynamic form. The well-defined rising shoulder line flows seamlessly from the edge of the headlamps to the tail lamps lending a dynamic stance to the Enjoy. Its not the most appealing design, but it works well, especially since practicality is stressed on.

Interiors
The interiors of the Enjoy are also very practical and clean and functional. Ofcourse there is plenty of space and many different seating options. You can easily 8 people inside the cabin and they would all have their own seat. The dashboard is also very simple with the instrument cluster nicely set up, and then steering wheel is also very basic. The overall look is also nice with the black and being dual tone.
Engine & Transmission
The Enjoy comes with a 1399cc 4-cylinder petrol engine that pumps out 98bhp and 131Nm of torque, and then it also comes with a 1248cc 4-cylinder turbo charged diesel engine that has 74bhp and 172Nm of torque. Both engines are very economical and are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox that sends the power to the rear wheels.
Performance and Handling
The diesel engine variant does provide more torque and so it has a nice acceleration, however there is a turbo lag before you feel the torque kick in. The petrol variant on the other hand is very responsive and the car picks up speed right from the get-go. Both engines are decently refined, but overall we preferred the petrol variant because it is more reliable and feels smoother. The overall ride quality of the car is not bad, but the car does have a suspension setup that is too light and you do feel all the bumps of the road, and the car sways a bit too. In the city it’s not too bad to drive and it can be quite comfortable, and on the highway it’s even better and the ride quality actually improves. The only problem would be overtaking, since the car is a little underpowered, and that is another reason we prefer the petrol because it’s got better mid-range power.
Fuel Efficiency
The diesel unit provides a better fuel economy with around 17kmpl.
Features
The Enjoy doesn’t come with the most unique features but the high-end variant comes with power windows, power steering, central locking, keyless entry, and an integrated audio system.
Safety
It also comes with good safety features such as reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and driver and passenger airbags.
Quality & Reliability
The overall quality of the Enjoy is not the best, and there have been reports of faulty parts already, but the build quality is decent and the interior cabin is nice. It is definitely a reliable car to drive and its after sales servicing will not be a problem and also will be inexpensive.
Value for Money
The car is priced very competitively and it certainly is a good package that carries good value for money.
Verdict
The Enjoy is perhaps priced lower than the Ertiga, the Evalia and the Innova, and it does offer great interiors, but its competitors are a bit more refined and have more power.
