The car is certainly cramped on the inside but it’s a proper sport hatch so you can’t really ask for space. The interiors are definitely sporty and the steering wheel dashboard and seats will really make you feel like you are in a race car. The chunky steering wheel, the high-floating dash with the all-digital readouts, as well as the turbo boost gauge are a familiar sight from the 500.

Fiat’s performance division has thrown in the brilliant 1.4-litre T-Jet engine, which pumps out 158bhp and 230Nm of torque into the 595 Competizione, and mated it to a five-speed automated manual gearbox. The downside though for Indian roads is that the suspension is too stiff and you will feel every bump on the road. But if you are on nice flat empty roads then you will have loads of fun with this car. It can be a great city commuter as well and an excellent highway tourer. There are two driving modes to choose from Sport and Normal so that you can decide just how your car performs.

The car comes with some great features as well such as power steering with controls and paddle shifters. It’s got power windows and full climate control as well as a fantastic multimedia system.

The overall quality of the car is fantastic and the car is very reliable. There is a reason that the Fiat Abarth 595 is one of the most iconic sport hatches in the world today.

The 595 is very expensive and it competes with the Mini Cooper S. Because of its high price tag it doesn’t make the car seem worth the money, but once you drive it for a while you just might change your mind.

It’s a simple choice between the 595 and the Mini Cooper S because the Abarth certainly is a better performer and looks better. However you could choose to go for a more luxurious sedan for a cheaper cost. It depends on what you want.
