The Honda Jazz went out of production after it didn’t really make a strong foothold in the Indian market, even though it was a great product. Timing wasn’t great for the Jazz when it was first launched. But since the Indian market has matured the Honda Jazz is making another comeback and it looks better than ever and it also come with a diesel engine and an automatic transmission on offer.
Design & Styling
The Honda Jazz stands apart with its sporty crossfade mono-form design. It’s a great step up from the previous model. It’s bold and has a super-slick front that strongly expresses a sporty attitude whereas side character lines, dynamic alloy wheels and rear spoiler makes heads turn every time. It's an aerodynamic burst of energy symbolizing speed and control.

Interiors
The interiors of the Jazz are also quite impressive and offer quite a good amount of room. The best feature however, is the futuristic looking dashboard that has everything laid out very well. The instrument cluster is very nice and the ergonomics are fantastically setup. The seats are also leather and they are very comfortable. The cabin really feels nice and very luxurious. Honda have once again done a good job to bring in the finest details that impress the Indian customer.
Engine & Transmission
The Jazz comes with a petrol engine and a diesel engine. The petrol variant gets an 1199cc 5-cylinder engine that can produce 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. The engine is also mated to a 5-speed manual transmission but there is also an automatic CVT available. The diesel variant gets a 1498cc 4-cylinder engine that produces 98bhp and 200Nm of torque. The diesel variant is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. Both engines are very nice but the petrol does seem more refined, but the diesel is definitely much more powerful.
Performance and Handling
The petrol unit offers a very relaxed drive. The acceleration is smooth and linear and the car offers a quiet and comfortable ride. The diesel variant on the other hand is far more exciting to drive because it offers better acceleration, but it’s just not as refined, but it still offers a very comfortable ride quality. There is a small power lag though and you only get to feel the full effect once you pass 2500rpm. The handling is very nice and setup very well. The suspension also does a good job and it’s soft so it absorbs undulations on the road without a problem. On the highway the car performs very well and even the city it’s comfortable.
Fuel Efficiency
The petrol variant provides around 13kmpl, while the diesel variant offers 15kmpl.
Features
It comes with state-of-the-art features designed and perfected to give you a superb driving experience. Enjoy auto AC with touch screen control panel, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, advanced audio, instrument cluster, reverse parking camera, and a whole assortment of awesome features, all laid out perfectly in super spacious and premium interiors.
Safety
The Honda Jazz comes with an array of safety features, like dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, impact mitigating headrest and immobilizer anti-theft system.
Quality & Reliability
The Honda City is made of the best materials in its segment, and the fact that it has a Honda badge on it says enough about its build quality. Honda’s are known to be the most reliable cars in the world, so you don’t need to worry about reliability issues.
Value for Money
The Honda Jazz is a premium hatch and it offers great value for money.
Verdict
The Honda Jazz is definitely one of the top premium hatches on offer and it’s got great features. The overall design and performance is also quite good, but it’s not the most exciting to drive. If you are not going to be driving then this is a very comfortable and practical car to own. Otherwise you might want to look at the VW Polo GT for a more engaged driving experience.

I bought Honda Jazz after long waiting period. The positive points abt the car is space..Lots of it. Ride quality awesome. Smooth refined engine ivtec. Drawbacks are 1. Mileage: The car gives mileage of only 10 to 11 in city conditions and 14 to 15 in highways.... 2. The car is totally underpowered. We were 5 ppl, full capacity in the car, going uphill, even in second gear the car could not move, intitially it had momentum.
Honda jazz is one of the best hatchback car in India.Whenever I start I-Vitec engine of Honda Jazz the Car shudders very little, which is only the indication that it woke up to hit the road. Almost there is no engine sound in this car which I found a lot in Toyota Etios in sedan and Liva in Hatchback when I test-drive them before buying the Jazz-X. If I talk about its deign and styling it looks like a pet wild tiger which is very obedient and ready to move on any time getting even my a sligthtest indication. Besides, Honda Jazz is also most fuel efficient car if you combine the fuel efficiency with the power of 90PS. However I felt that 160mm of ground clearance is not bad but if ground clearance would be more it would be better for Indian road. besides It gives Premium Car feeling which is almost impossible in any other Indian Hatchback Car. After price slashing it has become the most genuine affordable Car which every car loving Indian must have.
