The Discovery Sport is the updated Discovery 4, which we already know is a phenomenal all-round mid-size SUV. The new Discovery is a step below the Range Rover, but just as good in terms of its capability. The Discovery was first introduced in 1989 and is now in its fifth generation. It competes with Audi Q7, BMW X5and the Mercedes G Class, but none of those cars is capable of doing what this car can.
Design & Styling
The Discovery is a chunky looking car and its new design seems to be more dynamic than the old boxy shape it once had, but it still retains much of the original look. There are some enhancements to make it seem modern, such as the front grille and the more prominent wheel arches that also make it look strong on the road. The A pillars have gotten more angular to reduce the boxy look and the side profile gets some more lines across it. The car looks more aerodynamic as well with the added use of lines and curves.

Interiors
The interiors of the Discovery are very nice. The layout is nice and simple but also is very technological. There is ample room for all occupants the seats are very comfortable. The rear section is nice and airy thanks to the large windows. The dashboard is also very nicely setup with a beautiful digital instrument cluster that displays all the needed info to the driver. They have also added a third row of seating, but there isn’t much room back there.
Engine & Transmission
The Discovery Sport comes with one engine option and that is the familiar 2.2 litre diesel unit. There are however two deifferent engine outputs available, one with 150bhp and one with 190bhp. The engine is then mated with a very good operating 9-speed ZF automatic transmission.
Performance and Handling
The Discovery Sport is a great car to drive. The engine is very refined but it does seem just a little underpowered. The pickup is smooth and the car gets moving really fast. Even on the highway, the car is calm and composed and the ride quality is comfortable. In terms of handling, the car is not the most responsive and a little light, but it does the job well, with plenty of driver feedback from the suspension setup, which again can be adjusted and manipulated with the help of the different driving modes. On the off-road trails, the car is simply awesome. The Discovery Sport is actually built on the Evoque platform, but the multi-link rear suspension has been completely reworked for added refinement. You will feel totally confident when driving on rough roads and will hardly feel a thing in the cabin. The engineering that has gone into this car is very well though out and the functionality it has is brilliant.
Fuel Efficiency
Fuel efficiency is rated at about 13kmpl.
Features
The car features power steering, full automatic climate control, power windows, a digital instrument cluster, leather seats, interior mood lighting, steering wheel mounted controls, a nice audio system with 11 speakers and a subwoofer, 8 inch touch screen, and push button start stop.

Safety features include plenty of airbags, ABS, hill start assist, hill decent control, electronic bark brake, traction control and roll stability assist.
Quality & Reliability
The quality is top notch in this car and in all other Land Rover Vehicles. The engineering is also brilliant and thee cars are meant to take you where no other can, and at the same time still be extremely reliable and built to last extreme conditions.
Value for Money
You are certainly getting your money’s worth with this machine, as you will with all Land Rover vehicles. No other luxury SUV can do what this car can.
