The Xylo is a sleek multi-utility vehicle (MUV) that offers tons of space, style, and features. The Xylo was Mahindra’s first foray into the MUV segment in India and was first showcased in 2009. The car comes with two engine variants in 6 trim levels. The engines are the same ones found in the Scorpio, including the powerful mhawk diesel engine. The Xylo competes directly with the Toyota Innova and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Tata Aria.

Design & Styling

At first glance the Mahindra Xylo follows a boxy shape with a minimalistic approach on contemporary design. It is not the most visually appealing vehicle you can find on the road today but it still looks modern enough. The boxy shape, however, adds girth to the car and makes it look big. The front grille is not very prominent, but the large square headlights are. The wheel arches are not muscular so the car looks less imposing but practical. There are nice large windows and the rear spoiler gives it a nice touch. The tyres are nice and big and come with alloy wheels in the higher trims to make it more upscale. The car is relatively big at over 4.5 metres in length and just under 2 metres in height. It also has a decent ground clearance. For 2014 the car had undergone a minor facelift and now features added chrome garnish around the body, a new set of roof rails, new alloy wheels, and decals on the exterior paintwork.

Please make a better Xylo model, it looks like a taxi or a cab and the performance is also not so good, I have never buy. I think Bolero is better than this, look wise or we can say comfort wise. I really hate Xylo pls. modify and convert into a new and a sexy model. I would love to use your new release Mahindra XUV500 or Scorpio.

If u are a 4x4 lover.. d Xylo is not for you. But if u r looking 4 a vehicle that can fit in ur large family comfortably and also carry some cargo. Then Xylo is surely the best choice for you for around 8.8-lakhs-on road(E8-top version). GOOD features of Xylo- 1. Exterior looks of an off-roader.(best color- brown)even better than some SUVs. 2. Very very spacious.. u can even walk between seats. 3. Best in class.. 3rd row seats. (in comparison to Innova) 4. Dashboard is stylish and the steering wheel big n chunky. 5. Value for money.(Priced b/w 6.6 to 9 lakhs) 6. Low maintenance.(in comparison to Safari) BAD features of Xylo- 1. Cheap plastics. 2. Low kmpl (actual mileage around 9kmpl) 3. 8-Seater available only for commercial purpose not for family. So if ur sole purpose is to drive in the city and less of off-roading.. then this Mahindra vehicle is a sure value for money MUV.. yeah.. its just that an MUV.. but on that grounds.. it does full justice to its MUV tag. BEST part- not only it fits 7 people very loosely.. also the third row can be folded to carry a lot of cargo. WORST part- the rear door hardly has any purpose.. because you need to get to the third row from the 2nd row seats.. which cn be a bit odd.
