The Superb is the full-size luxury sedan from the Czech car maker and is also its flagship model. The car was launched in India is 2004 and today it competes with the Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry, Nissan Teana, VW Passat and Honda Accord. The Superb has a petrol and a diesel variant and booth get an automatic transmission. The new Skoda recently got refreshed in 2014 but comes with the same specs.
The Superb use to have an outdated look like all the other Skoda vehicles and was in desperate need of an update. Skoda recently have showcased their new design philosophy with the new Octavia in 2013 and so they also decided to refresh the Skoda and make it look more contemporary. The new Superb now looks a little less outdate than before and it is a good looking car, and thanks to its long wheelbase it has got an extended cabin. The front section looks nice and features the new Skoda logo and is typical Skoda with the front grille and large headlights, the rear section also has got a little changes and it looks much better and features a small fender along the rear boot lid. But the car still looks disproportioned. There are some very nice alloys and large tyres and the car also is low to the ground to give it a good stance.

Just like the name of the car, this is indeed a "superb" vehicle. No shortcomings on any front, space, comfort, feeling of safety within the car, efficiency and most of all power. I have driven a C-Class and an A4, but none of them could match Superb in any perspective. I love the car, really do! I owned a Fiat Palio about 7 years back, I always say " I am yet to drive a better small car than Palio", and i still maintain it. While now, I say " I am yet to drive a better vehicle than Superb", it might of course change when I drive a car atleast 2 segments above Superb, like A6, E-Class or 5-Series.

Having recently purchased the Skoda Superb 1.8 petrol (magic black), i can vouch for the "superb" feeling inside the car. Its unfortunate that i love driving else would love to be just at the back seat and stretch my legs as far in front as possible! Great ride quality and the looks which it gets when parked at my office is worth all the money that i coughed up for this beauty. The lighting (my nephew was updating my sister that "mamas" car has lights anywhere and everywhere )takes the cake and evenings are the best time to show this car to friends/ family as the lights create a really plush feel. The Sales team was excellent (Skoda Mahavir Auto Hyderabad - Ms Chandu) Today drove the E280 and yes in comparison the ride quality was not as good (Mercedes is great).. but you cant compare a E-Mercedes to a Superb (almost 22 L on road to 45L). Having said that, the interiors of the Superb are definitely better and the legroom of the Superb is far far better than even the E-series.

I have 2 Skoda Superb Cars in my family. On 7th May 2011, barely in 14 months after the purchase, the car had a major Gearbox problem and had a breakdown on my way. This same problem had occurred in past with the other Skoda Superb car. Such sudden major breakdown could have caused accident and cost our lives. I do not believe that Skoda supplies defective cars, but having the same problem in both the cars gives a picture of defective supply and cannot be an exception. We strongly believe that Skoda has been ignoring the quality assurance test and releasing the cars in defective condition. Skoda’s commitment for trouble-free performance has failed and our trust of safety with such a reputed brand has shattered. Even the Service Centre has harassed us. We have been using many brands like Toyota, Honda and Mitsubishi but had never ever faced such a problem with any of these cars. THIS IS A RUBBISH CAR.

The car is very good but the service is pathetic, very poor. The engineers at SKODA does not understand the technical points. When you talk to the engineers at SKODA for any technical problem , one gets feeling that you are not talking to competent person. The dealers are helpless as SKODA does not support them. I drive a V6 and it has some problems and SKODA has taken more than one year to resolve it. In fact the problem is not resolved yet. I regret having spent this money. Vinod Arora
